My main blog is now Susanna Helen's Blog. On this occasional blog I'm posting information about my current knitting projects and items that interest me in the world of knitting and textile design. My knitting inspirations come from many sources, especially 20th century British and American design, textiles and ceramics; Native American art; Central Asian textiles; and the landscape and knitting traditions of the Shetland Isles. I’m fascinated by colour and texture, particularly enjoy lace knitting, and am interested in exploring the interface between knitting as a craft and as an art form. I’m also interested in the history of knitting, and its place in fashion and in women’s lives.
